Can a 12 year old read Children of Blood and Bone?
The violence and sexual desire go past her maturity level, but the plot is so well suited for her magical adventure interests that we are reading it together while I smooth out the scenes she can’t handle yet. Violence and sexual scenes seem fine for a relatively mature 13 or typical 14-15 year old.

Is bones appropriate for 14 year olds?
Entertaining but GORY (and other serious thematic content)
I’m 20 but if I had kids younger than 15 or 16 I WOULD NOT let them watch this. It’s really mostly about the gory/vivid crime scenes.
Does Children of Blood and Bone have romance in it?
While the romance in The Children of Blood and Bone is a bit too underdeveloped to truly engage, the sibling relationships in the novel are particularly strong.
