What is a novel work?

If something is so new and original that it’s never been seen, used or even thought of before, call it novel. The noun novel describes a book-length work of fiction.

Why are old books still relevant today?

They each tell a story that everyone needs to hear or read. Classic literature is still relevant today because it is able to give readers certain insights by giving a glimpse into the past and sharing its input on issues that have stayed as universal and timeless as they have.

What came before the novel?

Before the modern novel became established as a form there first had to be a transitional stage when “novelty” began to appear in the style of the epic poem. Plays for entertainment (as opposed to religious enlightenment) returned to Europe’s stages in the early modern period.

It teaches us about life by exposing us to the lives of different people through their stories, and from these vicarious experiences, we learn important lessons and values. Literature teaches us humanity – to be sensitive and empathetic towards others.
